Floating Leaf Eco-Luxury Retreat is a retreat center in Bali, Indonesia. They accommodate mostly yoga instructors and other wellness professionals who want to bring a group to Bali for 7-14 day wellness and cultural retreats.
The retreat has been named among the best retreats in the world by Harpers Bazaar and the world’s best yoga and wellness retreat by Conde Nast Traveller. It is truly a remarkable place and our objective was to build a website that not only reflected the unique beauty of Floating Leaf, but to enhance the user experience that would lead to more guest bookings.
A Website that Honors the Brand
Floating Leaf is hands down, one of the best retreat centers in the world. They’ve received numerous awards and much recognition, which sets them far ahead of most of their competitors; however, the website was a poor reflection of the quality of the center, its award-winning staff and amazing cultural experiences. It was far too busy and confused customers who tried to find their way to booking a retreat. Users were getting confused and leaving the site in favor of competitors who were not as good as Floating Leaf.
Our job was to build a website and user experience that appealed to their core customer base and one that would represent the high-quality, luxury and extraordinary experiences one would receive while in Bali, at Floating Leaf. We also needed to make the site easier to navigate and direct users toward the information they required in order to make a purchasing decision.
The Full Package: Design, Content, UX, Conversion Optimization
There was a lot of content that needed to be re-written and pages that needed to be completely redesigned. We needed time to record user behavior and see where visitors where getting hung up, what they responded well to and which pages they bounced from. We also poured through years of analytical data to determine the reasons for visits and referral sources.
Per the client, the site needed to be redesigned within a 30 day period, which made meeting the challenges above especially difficult. We needed to pack two weeks of research in a couple of days and get approvals of design layout within the first week in order to give our developers enough time to fulfill all design obligations.
A Higher Conversion Rate
Not only did we observe a much better user flow through user recordings, but the data solidly supports a better experience for visitors and the increased conversion ratio proves that the new design is highly superior to the old.
With solid landing pages, the client can now run targeted marketing campaigns to specific types of users with a more efficient marketing budget.
Results were not immediate, but though our 60 customer support period, we were able to conduct usability testing as well as A/B tests to make the adjustments needed for a high-converting landing page.
As a result, conversions increased by an average of 12-15% per month and the website shows much better within search results, which has lead to more targeted consumer visits.
